The GMC CCKW-353 was equipped as a mortar fire control vehicle to be used in mortar platoons in the infantry. 3 fixed and 1 telescopic antenna were bolted on to the cargo body. At the rear 3 fixed work stations with VHF-radios (probably AN/PRC-8 or similar) were mounted. Power was supplied by a portable JAP generator.
